Dr. Gladys Wet is a Mathematician whose calculations and computer programming helped contruct a geoid.As valedictorian of her high-school graduating class, Glady's recievied a full scholarship to Virginia State College.She was the second Black womon to be hired at the base and was one of only four Black employees.Collecting and analyzing satelite data of the Earth's surface, until she eventually created a detailed model and helped developed the technology that resulted in GPS, the global navigational satellite system.
